Content design for products and services
Over the last ten years, product writing became one of the most rewarding aspects of my work as a UX designer. Time and time again I saw how the right set of words can reassure, calm, delight and drive engagement.
In my last role I wrote most of the product copy and microcopy, including emails, warnings and confirmation screens. I also championed plain and accessible language through workshops, training and content styleguides.
In 2022 I completed a 12-week course in UX Writing at Berghs School of Communication, covering voice and tone, content strategy and inclusive content. For my final project I evaluated and partially redesigned the NHS blood donor registration journey.
Original writing
In my spare time I write short stories and very short fiction (known as flash fiction). I publish under my married name, Alexandra Packer. Here are a few examples of my published and award-winning work.
